Artur’s good run in Sussex

In his first 4-star tournament played in Sussex at the K2 Centre, Artur showed that he is ready to take on the top players. Artur was the the top seed in the Cadet Boys Band 4. After a shaky start where he finished as a runner up in his group, Artur eased past his opponents in the quarter and semi-finals. In the final, he again met Nathaniel Nwafor (Middlesex), the only player to beat him in the group stage. Nathaniel again proved to strong for Artur who had to settle for a deserved second place.

In Band 3, Artur was drawn in group 1, where he met the top seed. He proved that he can compete against those high ranked opponents, winning the match in 5 sets. As only one player would qualify to the knock-out stages, Artur was in good contention to go through. But some lack in concentration besides some tired legs, helped him to lose his following match. Although he had a win in his third match of the group, that was not enough and he did not qualify on set count back.

It was a good experience and more to come for him.
