This year Waterside have entered a new team into the British League.
The following is their first match report:

Waterside’s Mark Butler,John McBeath, Phil Handy (cpt) and Matthew Daish produced a solid display to land the top of the tree after weekend 1 of the Senior British League in div.5 S.
There were some fine matches but the pick of the bunch had to be Mark Butler’s victory over London Fusion’s Edgar Berridge. This was a classic attack vs defense contest which Mark Butler scraped through deuce in the 5th set; some of the points had to be seen to be believed! Phil Handy showed consistency and calmness under pressure, not dropping a match, and Matthew Daish is getting better with every fixture. John McBeath meanwhile was delighting in hitting the ball , particularly of the backhand side, with astonishing speed and pace! All in all, a good start to Waterside’s campaign.
Averages
Mark Butler 1 62.5%
John McBeath 2 62.5%
Phil Handy 3 100 %
Matt Daish 4 85.7%
