Waterside TTC have been working in partnership with Saints Foundation to launch Saints TT, an informal table tennis offer that encourages more people to get involved in the sport. Since September, five clubs have been set-up at school sites in and around Southampton and introduced over 200 new table tennis players. Teams have already progressed to Regional Schools Competitions and three players are representing Waterside TTC in the National Cadet League.

The project is funded by the Premier League and Sport England through the innovative Premier League 4 Sport project. The Saints TT clubs are run Waterside_PL4SWaterside TTC Head Coach Adam Proszko who mixes informal game-play with skill challenges to engage players of all levels of experience. Saints TT clubs are currently run out of Cantell Maths & Computing College, Oasis Mayfield Academy, Chamberlayne College for the Arts, Mountbatten School and Barton Peveril College.

Greig Stewart, PL4S Officer at Saints Foundation:

“We are delighted to be working with such a pro-active club and in just a short space of time have seen the impact that table tennis can have in getting people active. We are particularly grateful to the club’s members and coaches who have made the transition between Saints TT sessions and regular club training an easy one for young people to make.”
