Waterside A see their lead at the top of the division slip to 0 point after a 7-3 victory over 4th place Generation II (Player of the Match Jimmy Yeung won all 3 for Generation II). Alpha A move up to 3rd place after an 8-2 victory over 7th place Soton West B (Player of the Match Alex Rorke and Norman Swift won all 3 for Alpha A). 2nd place Soton West A beat 8th place Waterside C 10-0. 5th place Waterside B beat 6th place Soton West C 7-3 (Player of the Match Artur Veeck Caltabiano won all 3 for Waterside B).
Hedge End A and Waterside D served up a thrilling 5-5 draw. Dave Woodacre seemed to be taking Hedge End over the line, when leading two sets to love over James Harkins, but he played a blinder from there to pinch it 14-12 in the decider, by returning Woodacres backhand with interest and pouncing on the loose ball with his forehand. Robin Plunkett then played Tim Gray whose lobbed defence was too good for him to level the scores. The surprises of the night was Plunkett only winning once after a long run of success and Leyon Joseph losing all three for Waterside D after playing brilliantly against title hopefuls Waterside E. Harkins and Gray took two apiece for Waterside as did Woodacre (whose smash shots gave his opponents a headache) and a rejuvenated John Taylor of Hedge End whose control of spin shots and tricky serves helped him to a fruitful night. Joseph made ammends in an important doubles when he combined with Harkins to win in four sets.

This was a well contested set of matches with some long close games especially between Richard and Katie with one game reaching 23-21. Richard won that match in the fifth game. Later Richard and Katie were to meet again in the doubles which also took 5 games to complete, with a blaze of attacking shots from both pairs. This match was won by Katie and Jon. Matt and Trevor also had some good matches during the evening, each winning 2 of their 3 matches.

The two Alberts both returned maximums in their singles with Harding edging Player of the Match. Bob Davies returned to winning ways fresh from his return from a Hawaiian cruise. Dave Eaton dragged himself off his sick bed to partner Albert Harding in a new doubles winning combination. Max Berg fought well throughout and was rewarded with Simmarians only win.
